Digital Family Trees – By Grade 3

In Media Arts, the Grade 3 students have explored the concept of a ‘Family Tree’ and discovered that many of our backgrounds have various cultural origins.

The students were asked to discuss their family history with their families, and research their cultural backgrounds. They then digitally created their Family Trees using the information. Students used Microsoft Paint to draw creative trees to start with. They then arranged their families on the tree based on their research. Students chose to add either photos or drawings of their families.

The task helped students recognise where their families come from and that Australia is a place of many different cultures. The results were stunning!

STUDENTS PLEASE REFLECT ON THE FOLLOWING…..
